The Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is mandatory for all early years providers.  It provides guidance to help childcare professionals understand and support each individual child's development.

How do we do this at Squiggles?

Each child is allocated a Key carer, who is an experienced member of our team.  They are responsible for observing and recording details of your child's activities within the nursery and liaising with you on a day to day basis.

From the information provided the Key carer considers it against the EYFS criteria which enables them to determine your child's stage of development.

They then plan activities which supports your child's development throughout their time with us.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their full potential.  Children develop quickly in the early years and a child's experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances.
